What on earth is pegging?

I hadn't heard of the term 'pegging' until quite recently.  It was during some research into strap on sex toys that I discovered this apparently well established practise.  In short, pegging is where,in a heterosexual relationship, the female puts on a strap on dildo and then has anal sex with the male.

After being initially horrified, I quickly recovered and googled it and sure enough there was a wealth of information, articles and stories.  A guy called Dan Savage is allegedly the man who coined the phrase and suggests that men should try it at least once.

Most straight men would probably hit the roof if their girl walked into the bedroom with a tub of lube and a strap on suggesting that tonight they would be behind you.  The sheer thought of being on all fours with his missus banging away at him, if nothing else, is enough to reduce him to a humiliated soul of a being.  But are their any benefits to it.

Well due to the nature of strap on sex toys for woman, they are able to enjoy all kinds of enjoyment.  Whether through penetration or vibration, the woman in charge is able to dictate her own pleasure.  But is it enjoyable for men? Surprisingly, the answer is yes! Naturally, the stimulation of the prostate is a cause for considerable pleasure, as is the stimulation of the rectum itself.  It appears that it is usually for the man to masturbate during pegging so he too can get his rocks off.

Is this pegging idea just a little too far, something for the sexual adventurers? Or is it misconceptions of anal sex among straight men that is limiting the practise from becoming mainstream?
